The Digital Leaders movement is growing by the minute so I had a little think about what the Fulford School Digital Leaders have achieved over the course of these last few months. It’s incredible. This time a year ago if I had said to myself you would have contacted google, microsoft, toshiba, and have organised and event where people from all over the world are flying in I would have called myself crazy.
So looking back, I was thinking what, out of this whole project has been the best bit? The bit that I have enjoyed the most? I know its corny, but its the inspiration that has been found by the younger generation. The year 7′s that now walk up to me around school and tell me about the latest thing they’ve done in scratch, or the way that they have created something in Photoshop. I’ve now got this massive whole school presence which enables me to inspire the next generation of Digital Leaders. That for me is the most powerful thing to come out of this TeachtheteachersMeet event. And the free food, can’t forget the free food.

I truly believe that the digital leader role is a pivotal one in school. For me, as a teacher, being an inspiration to younger children is vital. The fact that they look up to you as a digital leader means that you are having a positive influence on their learning. How wonderful is that! You are doing a great job Mikey (and all the other @FulfordDLs). Keep up the good work!

A great post, Mikey. I’m glad you recognise the value of the work you’re doing over at Fulford. I will certainly be in touch soon to arrange a meeting.
