I was lucky enough to be able to collaborate with local teacher Alex Gingell (@alexgingell) recently which led to me taking 12 of my Secondary Digital Leaders to his Primary School to work with 12 of his Digital Leaders on Friday.
The remit for the session was to allow the Secondary DLs the opportunity to train the Primary DLs in the use of two iPad apps – Puppet Pals HD and iMovie. The idea behind it was for the students to make their main movie in PPHD and then edit it in iMovie, adding music, sound effects, text, intros and outros.
The students got to work together for 1 hour and in that time they had an intro, some asset creation time, putting it together time and then presenting.
I’ll share the final results in a further post but it was a great event. Seeing the students working so well together, it was magic. Alex will upload some of the final videos next week but here are some shots from the session of students working together.

What a great way of using digital leaders! I’m sure that this will inspire many others to do the same. I hope that I can get our local high school to employ digital leaders and offer the same support to local primaries.
Can’t wait to see the finished films too! Well done Clevedon digital leaders!

Great to see cross phase one of the points I’ve made in my proposal to start DLs in our school. Also at secondary level to look at what is offered at external providers at 16+ or 18+ depending on your school’s age range.

Fantastic stuff. This kind of collaboration really helps to give a real meaningful purpose to the Digital Leaders project and I can see that it is massively beneficial to all involved. Bring on the films!
